We support Make-A-Wish at property awards dinner
Supporting worthwhile causes is something that’s very dear to our hearts here at Perrys. Whether local or national charities, we like to get involved in whatever way we can.
This might mean hours of gruelling training for a marathon, championing eco-initiatives, or – on a more glamorous note – donning our posh togs for a charity dinner!
Recently the property team from our Wrotham branch attended the Legacy Education Awards, an annual gala event in the elegant surroundings of London’s Savoy Hotel.
The event is organised by the Legacy Education Alliance (LEA), a leading provider of educational training seminars, conferences and services that was founded in 1992. The awards night is held to recognise and award entrepreneurial excellence, and also raises money for its nominated charity Make-A-Wish by hosting live auctions throughout the evening.
Perrys Director Donna McCreadie, along with colleagues Gareth Bridgland and Ryan Adams, went along to the event to support the fundraising efforts and help celebrate the achievements of the award winners.
Donna said: “There were some incredibly inspiring stories from the award-winners on the night, all of whom had shone in different business areas, from initial product development through to promotional campaigns.
“These stories were interspersed with some amazing fundraising auctions. It was great to see so many donations on the night, and we were delighted to do our bit on behalf of Perrys.”
Make-A-Wish UK was formed to grant life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses. In 1986, the charity’s first year, four wishes were granted. Over 30 years later, more than 12,000 wishes have been fulfilled, ranging from dream holidays to publishing a book, working as a chef for a day or going shopping in Paris. These experiences have meant the world to children and their families as they face an uncertain future.
LEA is a Gold supporter of Make-A-Wish, and has raised approximately £800,000 for the charity since 2007.
