Perrys Accountants attend the National Landlord Investment Show

On Wednesday 21 June 2016, Perrys chartered accountants exhibited at the National Landlord Investment Show at the London Olympia Conference Centre.

Several members of the Perrys Property Team were in attendance on the day – Donna McCreadie, Gareth Bridgland, Jamie Russell and Dave Horn all having an early start in a bid to beat the morning London traffic.

We arrived early, set up the Perrys banner and prepared our stand with lots of our free advisory brochures in anticipation of the visitors arriving. During the day, an estimated 4,000 people visited the show; to walk around the various exhibitor stands and to speak to the businesses attending, to network, and to view some fantastic presentations from a wide range of speakers.

Donna McCreadie delivered an excellent presentation on property tax updates to a packed seminar room filled with over a hundred property investors. In her seminar, Donna covered many recent topical subjects associated with property investment, including, the differences between trading and investing in property; recent changes to Stamp Duty Land Tax; an update on the proposed future tax restrictions to finance costs, and the potential considerations of holding property within a limited company.

Our stand was kept busy throughout the duration of the show, with hundreds of existing and potential landlords stopping by the Perrys stand to speak to the Property Team about their property affairs. Many were keen to ask tax related questions and to discuss their personal property tax affairs in a little more detail, and everyone was provided with information pack about the specialist services offered by Perrys.
