Raising finance for a small and medium-sized business can be difficult however The Kent and Medway Business Fund, managed by Kent County Council, provide interest free loans to successful applicants for businesses located in Kent and Medway.

The Kent and Business Fund standard loan is designed to support established small and medium sized businesses with a good track record and looking to grow. The scheme provides financial support between £100,000 and £600,000, repayable over a period of five years following a six-month repayment holiday, at 0% rate of interest.

Alternatively, the Small Business Boost is designed to support new business start-ups or businesses in the early stages of growth with recent trading history. The scheme provides financial support between £26,000 and £99,000, also repayable over a period of five years following a six-month repayment holiday, at 0% rate of interest.

Applicates will need to demonstrate how the financial support will enable their business to grow, address weaknesses, protect or create jobs in Kent and Medway, and adapt to changing markets in which they operate through innovation, increasing capacity, improving productivity, and developing new or expanding existing products. Applicants must also demonstrate their commitment to net carbon zero.
