Perrys sponsor Food & Drink awards
I am delighted to say that Perrys are, again, supporting the Kent Life and Kent on Sunday Good Food Awards. Even more exciting, well, for me anyway, is that I have again been given the opportunity to judge one of the categories. This time, “Best Drink Producer”
The event is in its third year and in 2014 this category was won by Hush Heath Winery of Staplehurst, with runners up being Little Stour Orchard from West Stourmouth and Gadds Brewery in Ramsgate.
I am very much looking forward to travelling around the county and sampling the best the county can produce, whether it be beers, wines, and spirits or juices and soft drinks. Although I must admit to not looking forward so much to having to choose one winner from amongst them!
The region is renowned for producing food and drink with an abundance of flavour and for being served at the highest standard, and with 5 of our 7 branches based in Kent, we look to support local businesses whenever and wherever we can.
So now is the time to nominate your favourites. As well as producers and suppliers you can nominate your favourite restaurant, chef, pub and hotelier. Or perhaps, tea-room, farmers market or farm shop. Have you received outstanding service recently? Service that makes you want to tell people? Well now is your chance by making a nomination in the “Customer Service of the Year Category”.
Nominations can be made in one or all of the 12 categories by visiting www.kentfda.co.uk or, if you prefer, by post to Food and Drink Awards 2015, Archant Kent,81 Station Road, Ashford TN23 1PP. But hurry, the closing date is 31 July.
Well I am off now to practice my tasting skills. Glass of red anyone?
