Naomi is skating her way to success
Here at Perrys we’re proud of the exceptional members of the team who work so hard to ensure your accountancy needs are not just met but surpassed. One member of the Perrys family making headlines for her achievements outside of work is trainee Naomi Healey.
Naomi, 25, who works at our Orpington branch, is set to represent GB Women in this year’s English Ice Hockey Association U20 Cup. The women will face boys’ and men’s UK teams in what is certain to be a close-fought competition.
‘I love playing ice hockey and I’m very proud to be involved in the GB Women’s set-up,’ says Naomi, who joined Perrys as a trainee accountant in January 2018.
Naomi started playing the sport at an early age when she and her family lived in Switzerland. The family moved back to Britain when Naomi was 13 and after a break of a few years, she started playing at Gillingham’s ice rink. She soon joined the club’s thriving women’s team and trains up to five times a week over the winter months.
As well as ice hockey, Naomi is a keen collector of classic cars, which she keeps in a unit near her home. She also finds time to volunteer as a co-ordinator for Mini 7 Racing Club days when they’re held at Brands Hatch. Mini 7 races have been running since 1966, attracting thousands of competitors and supporters, and Naomi hopes to become a competitor herself one day.
‘I like to keep busy and I suppose I do quite a lot outside of work, but I’m a strong believer in the saying that life is for living.’
We don’t know how Naomi finds the time but one thing’s for sure, we’ll be supporting her all the way!
